Toasted Crackers
Complete cracker toast dish. Very tasty!


What you need:

  • Saloon Pilot Crackers - Diamond Bakery brand
  • Butter or margerine for spread
  • Mixture of sugar and cinnamon - mix to taste.
  • Traditional pop up toaster or toaster oven.

    How To Make It

    1. Put cracker in toaster.
    2. Heat cracker(s) until warm or even slightly black.
    3. Spread butter on top.
    4. Sprinkle sugar & cinamon mix.
    5. Eat it.

    Notes

    This is a recipe that my Mom used to make for us when we were kids. She grew up in a wonderful place where this kind of meal was eaten in the morning or maybe anytime of the day, especially when the weather was cold. Cracker Toast makes for a great part of a breakfast meal. I like to eat this with hot chocolate and a scrambled egg.

    Cracker Recommendations: Hilo Saloon Pilot Crackers - unfortunately unavailable since the cracker factory closed in 2003. Diamond brand saloon pilots are an acceptable substitute.
